Spatial Sense
Learning Activity

Students learn to recognize and describe more complex shapes and create simple maps. They use tools to accurately measure the lengths of objects, and timers and clocks are used to measure how much time has passed.

This Learning Activity is divided into three sections. Adults should guide children through it in the following order:

Minds On: Introduces the learning concepts to be explored in the Learning Activity.
Action: Offers a focused activity to explore the content and discover key concepts.
Consolidation: Provides students with an opportunity to deepen understanding and reflect on learning.

Spatial Sense

Students continue to develop their spatial sense as they learn to visualize what different shapes look like when they are turned around or taken apart. They learn to recognize and describe more complex shapes and create simple maps of familiar places. Tools such as rulers will be used to accurately measure the lengths of objects, and timers and clocks are used to measure how much time has passed.
